Spicy Sesame Sauce
This is my go-to sauce (another weekly meal). It’s a delicious balance of spicy, creamy and savoury goodness. Plus the nutritional benefits of tahini and this sauce is quick and easy to make.
While the OG version of a spicy sesame sauce (Dan Dan Mian) is made with Chinese sesame paste (which is great as it is made from toasted sesame vs untoasted - tahini), I use tahini (hulled) because it’s what I always have in the fridge. Use whichever suits - tahini will require the addition of sesame oil.
Noodle add ons: simmered pork or shiitake mushrooms, stir fried diced green beans or firm tofu (vegan), poached egg, stir fried lamb or beef mince, shredded cos and/or cucumber. Don’t forget the scallions.
**Refined sugar free, vegan and Gluten free option - sub aged soy for tamari.
